Memorial Day boil!

We had our first boil at our house this weekend. We boiled 20 pounds of crawfish, 3 pounds of shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn...the results were pretty tasty :)

the deck, part IV

Woohoo, it's just about done! I am so proud of Camden, he got it done just in time for our crawfish boil and fish fry this past weekend. It looks great and we sure will enjoy having it. All he has left to do is the 'skirt' part, adding stairs and a couple of planters (for my flowers, of course)! Here are a couple of pics of the deck and one of our Oleanders that really came back pretty this year....

Jared

Camden's cousin Jared is a member of the US Coast Guard and is being deployed to Bahrain in the Persian Gulf today. Here is a picture of his ship, the Adak, and a couple of pics from his graduation from the Academy in Connecticut, which Cam and I were lucky enough to attend. Please keep Jared in your prayers, we'll miss him for the next year while he is away!

it's wedding season!!

This weekend my friends from high school, Bob and Courtney, got married at her parents home in Stephenville. The wedding was beautiful and I got to hang out with Laura (my bff from high school and roommate in college) and meet her lovely boyfriend, Tanner! Here are a couple of pics...please excuse the weird mouth thing I have going on in the first one :)

I was out of town this weekend for a wedding and Camden made lots of progress on the deck...it's getting so close to done!

Lubbock weekend

I spent the weekend in Lubbock with my Dad and grandparents doing a little pre-wedding celebrating for my cousin John's fiance Elizabeth (they are getting married June 28th). She had a lovely shower Saturday and it was great to get to spend some time with my Dad and his family.
