hellllllllllo friends! it's been awhile...we've been busy as ever with the little guy, but i wanted to share his birth story before it escapes me (not that i think that will happen anytime soon).
so here goes...
nov 4th
7pm - cam and I meet bernie and jordan for dinner for my birthday. i tell them i am certain they will be visiting us in the hospital on the 11th when i will (finally) be induced.
10pm - arrive home and watch tv for a bit, then head to bed.
11pm - start having contractions and ask cam to time them.
11:30pm - cam falls asleep (uh huh) and crys gets out of bed and calls shalaine. they time contractions for an hour...they are 3-4 min apart. call the hospital, they say come in.
nov 5th
1am - arrive at hospital and get checked in, nurse checks crys - she's a 1. nurse tells crys she'll need to walk around the hospital for an hour to see if she makes any progress. how fun. shalaine tells crys to send her a picture of the contractions...and then tells her "it looks like i should get ready to leave"

3am - after lots of walking, no progress is made. nurse tells us she is sending crys home with an ambien. AMBIEN? crys asks if she'll be able to sleep through the (still 3-5 min apart) contractions. nurse says yes. crys doubts that's gonna happen. she's right...
5am - kevin and shalaine arrive, everyone goes to sleep. except crys.
{bestest godparents}

11am - crys can't take it anymore, back to the hospital.
12pm - nurse checks crys, she's "almost" a 2. you. are. kidding. nurse mentions sending us home again...i tell her i am not going home.
1pm - crys gets a shot of morphine and decides she can live through this. maybe. shalaine (who just so happens to be an OB nurse, reassures her this isn't that bad...riiiight). dr tells cam that baby won't be here until after midnight. cam goes in the waiting room to read work emails.
2pm - crys' water breaks. wooooohoooooo.
3pm - contractions get absolutely ridiculous, one after the other. crys is asking for her epidural. now.
4pm - still no epidural. cam asks the nurse for the 527th time and she assures him it is "coming." keep in mind crys has not been checked since 1pm.
5pm - epidural FINALLY comes. praise GOD. crys somehow sits still for what seems like 30 minutes so the epidural can be inserted. it's finally in...the nurse checks her...and tells her she is going to have to start pushing. um WHAT? is she joking? nope. she's a 10 and complete. time to push. the epidural has not started working. insert bad word here. or several.
cam isn't even in the room, shalaine calls him and tells him he better hurry. dr tells crys she will "let" her push for two hours. insert more bad words.
5:30pm - crys asks shalaine why her legs are NOT numb. at this point, pretty sure shalaine realizes the epidural probably is not going to work. she chooses not to tell crys but convinces her it is working a little. ha, good one.
5:45pm - epidrual still not working. awesome.
6:30pm - still pushing. crys asks what exactly happens after 2 hours and ponders what she will say if the nurse mentions a c-section after 1.5 hours of pushing. nurse says she is sure baby will be here by 6:45pm. HALLELUJAH.
6:46pm - he's HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so there you have it, pax made a fairly quick entrance and shocked us all just a bit. mommy and daddy are overjoyed.
here are some pics, as you can see, someone got daddy's feet!

we just love our little one!
