whoa!

We had some bigggg hail last night, we were lucky to be home with both cars in the garage. At least we got some good rain out of it!

now that's a good looking family!

Cam's cousin Josh plays baseball for Incarnate Word in San Antonio and they played in Austin this past weekend; we joined the family to watch a couple games and had a lovely dinner after. Great to see you guys!

new orleans (caleb+adriane)

So, I left Chicago Friday afternoon to meet Cam in New Orleans for Caleb and Adriane's wedding. Neither of us had been there, so we were excited! The city was amazing, the night life was crazy and the wedding was beautiful!

Now isn't this cute, this was during the second line parade, which I read about to figure out what was going on...

Second line parades are the descendants of the city’s famous jazz funerals, and there are dozens of second line parades throughout the year, usually on Sunday afternoons in neighborhoods around the city. Heralded by the blaring of the approaching trumpet and the thump of a tuba, second line parades are always led by a brass band. The term “second line” comes from the folks who fall in behind the band & the hosting organization and join in the rolling excitement, dancing and singing as they go, waving handkerchiefs in the air and bobbing umbrellas up and down.

Neat, huh?!

Congrats Bauers, we had a great time!

chicago

Whew, what a week. I left Austin at 6am Wed headed to a tradeshow in Chicago. I had never been there and loved the city. The weather was thankfully wonderful, in the 50's and not too much wind, it could have been much worse. I didn't get to do a lot of sight seeing, but I snapped a couple of pics...

Lake Michigan, see the white part in the middle, that's the ice that has yet to melt...and people were running in shorts!

Falling ICE?!

The historic Water Tower downtown (main claim to fame is that it is one of only a very few structures that remained standing after the great Chicago Fire in 1871 and today is a monument to that event).

The tradeshow I was working was "The Work Truck Show" and I found a new car to take home, ha.
